Little Rabbit
by:
Douglas Gibson
(1989- )
Little Rabbit beneath my feet,
curled and soft,
waiting to retreat.
My slow hand discovers
the depths of your fur.
I crouch, but too close,
and the ghost of a car
Frightens your thoughts
as you spring to the air,
and swallow summer’s
last breath.
